Arts Council Hosts "Napa Reads" at the Napa Valley Opera House

A significant part of the NVAA mission is to foster the ongoing arts education of students in Napa County. This Literacy Program and Napa Reads event brings local artists together in support of the Napa County Office of Education. One our NVAA artists, Marlene Haas, created an art bookend inspired by the book for the event. "This year we read the book Reaching Out by Francisco Jiménez and painted bookends that represent the book," says Haas. "I created a mixed media montage that represent the story and the joy and hope inspired by the book."
