Each year the Napa Valley Art Association contributes to the ongoing education of seven Napa Valley students with the NVAA scholarship program. The awardees must be students interested in pursuing a career in the arts and are selected by their individual schools.
The money is funded through special raffle programs held at NVAA meetings and events, donations from artists and the general public. Also a portion of all sales of art generated through events, participation in Chef’s Market, and sales from the two Artists of the Valley co-operative galleries is dedicated for the Scholarship program. This year, NVAA gave out 7 $500 scholarships.
The 2009 awardees are:
Vintage High School - Jenna Galindo
Napa High School - Denise Muchuca
New Technology High School - Emily Meehan
Calistoga High School - Ariel Andrews
St. Helena High School - Tony Manzo
Valley Oak High School - Jenna Bennett
Napa Valley College - Julio Diaz
Congratulations to the 2009 scholarship recipients!
Public contributions to these scholarship funds can be sent to NVAA, 1520 Behrens Street, Napa CA 94559.
